Mr Squiggle has gone back to the moon

Norman Hetherington who created and played Mr Squiggle has died at age 89.
A HUGE inspiration for me growing up. I used to lay upside down on the carpet in front of the vinyl wood grain National TV trying to figure out his drawings. I was lucky enough to score a mid 90s VHS of Mr Squiggle from an oppe shop a few months back.

LOVE LUST AND LIES ABC 8:30 THURSDAY 30TH SEP

An incredible conclusion to a 35 year documentary series in the vein of Michael Apted's '7UP' by Gillian Armstrong. 'Love Lust & Lies' screens for the first time on ABC1, Thursday 30th of September at 8:30. It is must see television.

I first stumbled across the third in the series 'Bingo, Bridesmaids and Braces' in 2003 deep in the archives of the ACMI's lending collection and instantly fell in love with the concept and the subjects, subsequently tracking down all in the series except the original 'Smokes and Lollies' 1975 which only seems to exist on 16mm.

Gillian Armstrong must be commended for taking on this incredible journey with these girls, it's a treasure that something like this was undertaken and I hope that the journey continues.
